Theatre Research in Canada / Recherches théâtrales au Canada is delighted to announce the appointment of Kim Solga as General Editor effective 1 June 2016, following a transitional year in which she served as Associate Editor.

Kim Solga is Associate Professor of Theatre Studies in the Department of English and Writing Studies at Western University, and from 2012-2014 she was Senior Lecturer in Drama at Queen Mary, University of London. She is the author of Theatre & Feminism (Palgrave, 2015), and editor (with D.J. Hopkins) of Performance and the Global City (Palgrave, 2013), and A Cultural History of Theatre: The Modern Age (Bloomsbury, 2016). Kim will be the recipient of the Excellence in Editing Award from the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, and she blogs at The Activist Classroom.

On behalf of TRIC and the CATR membership, I would like to publicly thank Marlis Schweitzer for her tremendous work on the journal these past few years. Marlis worked diligently to see dozens of high quality articles through to publication, to expand the journal’s thematic scope, to make the journal visible to wider audiences, and to bring in more diverse voices. She oversaw the complete redesign of the journal and overhaul of its website. Her tenure as General Editor ends with the journal in fine shape – an emblem of the lively and evolving scholarly community surrounding it. We’re excited for Marlis’s leadership in her new role as the President of the Canadian Association for Theatre Research!
